  • Solar Exhibit 2

EWB Goes to Chicago Museum of Science and Industry

EWB events committee designed two exhibits for the "Renewable Energy at Illinois" exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. Children were able to make their own dye sensitized solar cells out of raspberry juice, TiO2 (the white stuff in frosting, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc.), pencil, iodine, and conductive glass. Solar modules and demonstrations were present as well. The wind exhibit consisted of three types of wind turbines each with a permanent magnet generator. The children were able to see how much electricity was generated from each turbine.
