Internet Access

Libraries on campus have public computers with Internet access:

  • Physics/Astronomy Library at Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W Green St., Urbana
  • Grainger Engineering Library, 1301 W Springfield Ave., Urbana
  • Mathematics Library, 1409 W Green St., Urbana
  • University Library, 1408 W Gregory Dr., Urbana

Wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) is available as well.

Wi-fi on Campus

There is free Wi-fi service for general public at the two conference locations:

  • Loomis Laboratory, 1110 W Green St., Urbana
  • Digital Computer Lab, 1304 W. Springfield, Urbana 

Other locations with free public Wifi should have signs like the one on the right.

Wi-fi instructions

  • Both UIUCnet and UIpublicWiFi will be listed in any UI Public Wireless area; other networks may also be available. Make sure you choose the UIpublicWiFi network.
  • Open a web browser and go to a web site. After you've made your connection to the UI Public Wireless network, you'll need to fill out a registration form. The University is legally required to collect information from you in order to provide you with network access.
