The Publicity Committee is responsible for spreading awareness of EWB-UIUC events, projects, and awards. There are many opportunities for leadership in this committee! We meet at regularly, usually on Tuesdays in 110C Eng Hall. Email the Publicity Chair whose email is on our Contacts page, for more information.

Environmental Working Group Presentation: 10 Americans - 287 chemicals

Presenter KEN COOK is President of the Washington DC based Environmental Working Group (EWG)

Co-sponsored by the Cities of Urbana and Champaign

Where: Champaign Public Library, Robeson Pavilion Room, 505 S Randolph St, Champaign

When: Monday, March 31, 2008, 7 - 8:30 p.m.

This important, FREE presentation is open to the public and is for:

Medical professionals
School Officials/Teachers
Parents and Students
Environmentalists
Anyone concerned with the impact of chemicals on the human body

The EWG has identified chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects, hormone disruption, reproductive problems, and immune disorders

Get involved with International Impact!

International Impact (a registered student organization) sends students abroad every semester. This year, we want to do things a little differently, so one project is specifically designed to research and test out a few new programs in South America. These will vary from organized volunteer programs to community organizations. International Impact would be delighted if any members of EWB are interested in participating in this venture! New Publicity Committee!

Description:

EWB-UIUC is proud to announce that the events/publicity committee now has two separate identities. =) The publicity committee will likely meet shortly after the events committee each week and in the same location -- however it's up to you!! We'll decide at our first meeting.

We really want to get EWB's name out there this semester!
The main focus at the start of the semester will be the Progressive Career Fair- for which we will be designing and printing a professional billboard. We will also be creating a public television program, writing radio announcements, and newspaper advertisements. There are many opportunities for leadership in this committee!

Publicity

There are many ways to get involved with EWB. You can join a committee, a project, or simply attend events. You may also sign up for a mailing list to be up to date on all events. All students from all majors are always welcome.
